The Women’s Premier Cup is the Women's Premier League’s annual tournament. The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association encourages U18, U19 and U23 teams to enter this cup. Each team is guaranteed three matches on Saturday, July 21st. The two top teams will advance to the championship game on Sunday the 22nd.
REGISTRATION: A $100 tournament fee along with a $200 participation bond are due by July 1, 2007. See the tournament entry form for more details. Referee fees of approximately $50 per game are also required.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each match will be 60 minutes with a five–minute half time. Game times will be determined 1 week prior to the cup. On Sunday, July 22nd, Finals Semi-final and Championship matches will be 90 minutes with a ten-minute half time, two overtime periods of 15 minutes each and penalty kicks if needed to determine a winner.
ELIGIBILITY: Any team participating in the WPL, Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association affiliation, is eligible to play. Any affiliated teams outside of the WPL may participate by invitation only. Participating teams MUST be fully registered with their state association and may carry a full roster of 24 maximum players for the tournament. All players must be registered with their respected association and have a valid player pass. Guest players are permitted.
SUBSTITUIONS: Substitution is unlimited. Both teams may substitute on a throw-in, as long as the team in possession of the throw-in is substituting a player, on an injury or on their own corner kick.
GAME FORMAT and SCORING: All participating teams will participate in a round robin balanced format
with a three-match guarantee to qualify for the championship. The top two teams will advance to the
final match on Sunday. All group play matches will be 2 x 30-minute halves with a 5-minute half.
Sunday’s semi-final and championship games will be 90-minutes with a 10-minute half time, two
overtime periods of 15-minutes each and penalty kicks if needed to determine a tournament champion.
Scoring: Win – 3 points Ties – 1 points Loss – 0 points. Goals – 1 point per goal with a maximum
of three (3) points to be awarded. Shutout – 1 point (0-0 ties will not be awarded points).
