Indoor Soccer League and Training - Winter 2006
IntroductionIndoor soccer leagues provide serious players with the opportunity to improve their skills and conditioning during the 'off-season'. This page provides general information about indoor soccer, available leagues and tips if you're looking for a team to play on during the indoor season. If you'd like to see information about other indoor leagues or training posted here, please forward any relevant information to the ACE-SOCCER webmaster.
Most leagues run 6-8 week sessions with games once per week. Scheduling for indoor facilities is very competitive so game times will vary and do not follow the traditional weekend scheduling seen in outdoor play. The indoor season runs from November to March with each session costing approximately $700 per team. Teams should roster at least 10 players, with roughly six players on the field. The game is very fast paced and physically demanding so substitutes are very important. The more popular facilities feature an indoor turf that simulates outdoor play so players can wear outdoor gear.
Registering players for indoor play is not as demanding as the outdoor leagues. There are no state-issued registration cards; it's simply a matter of completing a roster form, filling out a medical release form, paying the fees and being prepared to play.
